As we celebrate Ada Lovelace, this webinar looks beyond the familiar story of the “world's first computer programmer” to explore the woman behind the legend – an ambitious pioneer whose leadership, influence and intellectual contribution have often been overshadowed by history.

Debbie Airey is Chief Commercial Officer at Safe Monitoring Group and host of Kicking the Door Down, where she explores the experiences and challenges women face in male-dominated industries.

Using Ada as a golden thread, Debbie explores the modern reality of the Double Burden: the invisible work women carry alongside their technical expertise.

From being the only female voice in the room, managing how we are perceived, appearance bias and emotional labour, to “office housework”, promotion barriers, caring responsibilities, maternity return and why talented women choose to leave STEM.

Through honest storytelling, humour and lived experience, Debbie will challenge us to look beyond the familiar advice for women to simply “be more resilient” – and ask what needs to change around them.
